Scottish Child Payment Bridging Payments

£200 per pupil for those eligible for Free School Meals P1-S6

Note: The Scottish Child Bridging Payment is £160. Midlothian Council has taken a decision top this up by a further £40, making the total payment £200.

This top-up is provided from additional Scottish Government funding to support wellbeing by preventing and responding to financial insecurity over the Winter.

·         Children and young people receiving universal Free School Meal provision – i.e. those in P1-P4 who would not qualify for Free School Meals on low income criteria – are not eligible.

·         It will only cover pupils currently eligible and applications received up until 30^th November 2021 which are subsequently approved.

·         Any payments not made by 16^th December 2021 because applications have not yet been completed or approved will be paid by 31^st January 2022
