On Tuesday 28th August 2017, The Council approved the relocation of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School and the Nursery and Primary 1 of Burnbrae Primary School to the new school campus to be built on the former Hopefield Primary School site on Rosewell Road in Bonnyrigg when it is ready for occupation, which is now planned for August 2019.
The Council also agreed:
- To maintain strong communication links between the staff of both St Mary’s and Burnbrae Primary Schools and Council officers to ensure a smooth transition into the new campus,
- To review school travel plans and parking arrangements prior to the opening of the new school campus.
- To involve pupils, parents and staff in designing the layout of internal and external spaces at the new school campus.
