MUSIC FEES REFUND

Dear Parent / Carer,

Given the uncertainty caused by the ongoing Coronavirus situation the Council has decided to refund all instrumental music instruction payments already made for Block 3 (Easter – June 2020), this will include direct debits made on 1st April 2020.  All further direct debits, due in May and June, will now be cancelled.   Parents/carers’  who consider that they may be due a further refund for lessons missed earlier in the school year will have their claims addressed under our regular procedure during June 2020 – these claims should be submitted directly to Jake Herriot, Education Support Officer – Expressive Arts by e-mailing Jake.herriot@midlothian.gov.uk after 31st May 2020.

Please note that direct debits related to payments for the January – March period will still be collected, but will take account of the cancellation of lessons between Easter and June..

If any families are finding finance tight during this period please contact us and we will attempt to prioritise your refund.

At the moment our instrumental instructors are busy setting up mechanisms via GLOW and Google Classroom to continue to offer support to your child(ren).  This may take some time to fully effect as staff are familiarising themselves with these systems at home, without the regularly available training inputs.  Furthermore due to varying strengths of home Wifi etc. it is possible that some pupils may receive poorer access, and similarly some instructors may struggle to contact all of their pupils.  There will be no charge for this additional service during Block 3.

Thank you for your patience.

Kind regards,

Jake Herriot
